
The latest AFL season kicks off on Saturday, April 12 and the A-League’s hottest players are now officially in their prime.
Here’s a look at which A-Listers have been the most explosive of the past few months:Riewoldt’s formRiewoldsnTasmanian winger Tait Taylor has been the standout of the first half of the season and has been one of the most consistent players in the league.
The 24-year-old has averaged 22 disposals and nine marks this season, as well as playing a crucial role in the Hawks’ finals run.
Taylor also has a new-found confidence, having averaged 26 disposals (second on the team) and nine tackles in the past three games.
“The biggest thing for me in the season is just to get on with my footy,” Taylor said.
“It’s been a great year so far and it’s all thanks to the support and support of the coaches.”

“He’s been joined by Josh Gibson, who has scored six goals (third on the side) and has kicked three goals (first on the list) in his last three matches.
Brisbane Lions’ Jack Billings is one of two big names to have a consistent season, while the likes of Josh Walker and Patrick Dangerfield are in the form of their lives.
Walker, a key cog in the Lions’ defence, has averaged 18 disposals this season (second in the AFL) and kicked four goals in the first four rounds.
He is also in the top 10 in the Aussie game in tackles (10) and marks (12) per game.
The 19-year‑old has also kicked two goals in his past three matches, and will be a key part of Brisbane’s finals push.
Dangerfield is another player to look forward to this season after averaging 26 disposalls (third in the team), five marks (third), two goals (fourth) and a goal every other game (fifth).
His teammate Josh Kennedy is another important part of the Lions side, having kicked a goal in each of his last four games.
He also has eight marks (fourth in the club), six tackles (third) and two goals this season.
Darling is one player who will be looking to put the best foot forward this season and he’s scored a goal (fourth on the season) and an assist (third).
He has been a key player for the Brisbane Lions this season having averaged 21 disposals per game (fourth), seven marks (sixth), three goals and a try.
He’s also been named the ABL’s best player by the fans.
He has played seven games this season as the Lions have been able to pick him apart, with three of those coming in the final fortnight of the year.
Kassidy Sheridan is also a player who has been consistently good for the Lions this year, having racked up 20 disposals, 10 marks, seven tackles, five goals and two assists in the last three games, as they chase their maiden premiership.
Riews is the other big name to have made the most impact this season with eight goals, four assists and two rebounds in his 10 games.
He’s also made his mark on the club’s young list, averaging 18 disposons per game and nine mark per game in the two games he’s played.
His best game this season came in the third round against the Swans, when he kicked a game-winning goal in the fourth quarter to lift the Hawks to a commanding 21-point win.
Rochester-born star Alex Silvagni has been another player who is performing strongly this season despite missing time with a hamstring injury.
He kicked a match-high 24 goals last year, and this year has averaged 28 (fifth in the side).
The 21-year-old also has six goals this year and eight marks in the next four games, after being named the AFL’s best defender this season by the supporters.
He will be an important part in the Giants’ hopes of reaching the finals in 2017.
Sam Rowe has also been making waves this season but it’s his ability to kick goals that will be his highlight.
The 21 year-old is averaging 20 disposons and nine goals this term, while also kicking two goals and five marks in his previous three matches against Essendon.
He was also named the best player in the Bombers’ side by the Bomber fans, having scored four goals (six in the match).
Riley Elgey is another one who is looking to add to his prolific year in 2017 and has averaged 26 possessions (fifth) and four marks (second).
He’s a key member of the Giants side who has kicked four and had a game‐high six marks in this season’s first round.
